L4A takes on new staff
L4A is delighted to announce the appointment of Jason Briggs and Danny Woodworth as Development Coordinators. Jason is managing the Sheffield branch and Danny has taken on L4A Leeds. Nick Meyer joins L4A as a director
We are very glad to have Nick on board more permanently after his management of the CHANT project. We look forward to working with him lots in the future and many more projects.
Community Star Awards - L4A and Abbie Chidwick
At the Community Star awards hosted by Focus Volunteers on Thursday 22nd April, L4A was up for two awards. We won the Most Innovative Youth Led project award and received a fantastic glass statue. We also want to congratulate Abbie Chidwick personally on receiving a runners up award after being nominated for the Rising Star category. It was a great night for everyone. Photos to be added soon!

L4A heads to parliamentary reception - 24th February 2010
A set of resources to support informal adult education in care settings have been produced to highlight the benefits that learning has for older people in care settings to a range of audiences. L4A to deliver training at Dignity in Care launch at the Walkers Stadium on 19th March
The training will be centred around Meaningful Activities. We are very pleased to be involved in this vital piece of work.
L4A is featured in a government funded report
L4A is very pleased to have been mentioned in a report called Enhancing Informal Adult Learning in Care Settings. The report was written by Fiona Aldridge of NIACE (National Institute for Adult Continuing Education) and was funded by the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (DBIS). Gavin is a NATIONAL and regional winner
L4A was delighted to annouce that Gavin Freeman has won a regional award as the East Midlands best new volunteer with VInspired, a national charity. We are very proud of his acheivements. This was until he won the outright award of the best new volunteer. Well done, Gavin!
The CHANT project
L4A is undertaking the CHANT project - Care Homes and New Technologies. This project aims to link care homes up with the internet, laptops etc and to train residents to use them and to teach care staff how to support residents in using the latest equipment.
